Today had an EXCITING twist!

Mike and I stopped by Starbucks on our way back home from the Reunion so I could use the usually clean Starbucks bathroom (which it was). Well, to my joy and surprise, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is now being served!!! One of my favorite parts of Fall, you know, besides the beautiful turning leaves and crisp air...

Mike's Family Reunion Fun

The Reunion was a 3 day long event, starting on Friday and ending on Sunday afternoon. The first phase was a "Mixer" at Mike's Aunt's house. The second phase was at the Art Museum and consisted of dinner and dancing. It was a blast! The third phase was a picnic at the park which was low key. It was nice to have the day on Sunday to talk after the well known Tejano style music, Bad Habitz band, played too loud for conversation on Saturday. We didn't mind though, because we spent most of the time dancing!
Us before the party started on Saturday

From left to right: Mike's brother (Matt), not sure, one of Mike's uncles (Rudy), Mike's Grandpa (Papa), Mike's Dad (John), and Mike

The boys on Sunday
A group of us (not sure of everybody's connection to the family..some cousins, Mike's immediate family, Mike and I on the right, etc.)

There was lots of guitar playing and singing

Our new little friend, Pablo..he is the cutest little kid EVER..besides my niece that is. Pablo beat Mike in arm wrestling 10 TIMES. He was very proud, promptly telling his Mom. His fist pump at the end of his wins was PRICELESS.

All in all, we had a great time. It was nice to put faces with names and have time to talk to Mike's family members that live out of state. Looking forward to the next one! And Mike and I might just plan a trip to see Pablo and his family in Texas because they are pretty great.

The more I hear about Dr. P...

the MORE I want to kick him in the pants or drop kick him to the back woods of North Carolina...or both.

I miss...

my sister's pregnant belly.

And my sister of course.

My little niece is coming soon! I can't wait!

Today was back to reality/back to work. Not a super hard day which was nice. Mike and I went to the gym after work and ate healthy all day...we've been feeling like gluttons since our food-packed vacation week. We're serious now...that is until Mike's family's 3 day long reunion this weekend which will be nothing short of an aunthentic mexican food extravaganza...we better go to the gym A LOT this week.

Is this an episode of This Old House?

Mike (my boyfriend) taught me how to use the drill yesterday. I must say, it was fun. I felt very useful and if I do say so myself, I look like I was born to wield a drill. Come on, look at the focus on my face. Maybe carpentry is my destiny. Ha.

I was a little spastic, dropping the screw more than three times and having to rearrange the furniture to find it. Yeah, what you don't know is that before this picture was taken I was searching for the screw I dropped, looking very uncoordinated and lost.

In other news, Juicy and Henry have found their new best friend:

Krispy Kreme and Golf.

I was hoping to switch my eating habits in the middle of this week, ya know, start eating more vegetables and less Cheetos, even though I'm on vacation. Yeah....that worked for about half a meal. After Manda's Dr.'s appointment yesterday, which we all attended, John saw Krispy Kreme on the ride home and it was all over. He made sure to turn that car around and purchase 2 boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Included in that box was my favorite, raspberry filled glazed. So yeah, my plan was foiled. And soon after that we had a pizza filled lunch at Shakey's. Constant eating, that's what we do.

What is it about vacation and eating anything and everything you want? Apparently it's something I do very well. I just can't help it...AND my sister is pregnant and it is a lot of fun to enjoy food with a pregnant lady. That takes me back to the winter of 2007 when my friend Laura came to visit me while she was pregnant. Mike and I took her to the grocery store to buy food for her visit and she started eating a doughnut while we were at the grocery store and we left Safeway with ice cream, m&ms, cookies, THE WORKS. It was wonderful. I guess it's the pregnant ladies way of adding weight to those around them while they gain baby weight.

Last night we played Golf, a card game, which has now become a family favorite. We're just enjoying all this time we get to spend together. And in my opinion, the days are going by WAY too fast.

Playing the waiting game.

We're enjoying our time together, even though we don't have a baby to fawn over yet. And we've been getting lots done!
